Located at the northeastern edge of downtown San Diego, San Diego High is one of California's oldest high schools and has played a critical role in educating San Diego's youth since it was established in 1887 as Russ High School. San Diego High counts many local, national, and international leaders among its alumni and faculty. Notable academics, athletes, authors, actors, business and community leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, musicians, scientists, and even a nobel laureate have at one time called San Diego High home.
While the look and structure of the school has changed over the years, the spirit remains the same. Today's San Diego High School is a dynamic place where young women and men are shaping themselves, their community, and the world around them.
